A CHILD STANDS

A CHILD STANDS

In the turmoil of the winter beach
Stands a child – Oh so still.
Her mind immersed in who knows what...
She waits for what God wills.

Near the constant surge of the winter surf
Stands a child – all alone.
To some she seems a mystery...
Her destiny -- unknown.

With the ocean's breeze upon her face
Stands a child – young and pure.
But there shall never be a wind...
That her God could not keep still.

With the winter sand beneath her feet
Stands a child -- who does not move.
And only God will guide her heart...
A fact she'll one day prove.

On a coast that journeys on for miles
Stands a child – undeterred.
And the only voice that guides her way...
Is the voice of God – she's heard.

On a beach that's filled with God's great glory
Stands a child of God's creation.
She demonstrates the stillness found...
In the peace of God's Salvation.
